Our family’s story traces across many islands, oceans, nations and cultures. These houses represent us and are a place to rest from journeys to plan new adventures. We are passionate about the wild beauty of Tasmania.
In the 1930s a Hobart family started building houses on the sand dunes next door to an abandoned saw mill. They used these beautiful dune homes as weekend escapes where their children and grand children learnt how to fish and swim.
Now we are trying to save and preserve these houses. With no new building permitted in the area due to sand dune erosion these residences need love and attention.
All proceeds from renting these houses go back into maintenance and upkeep of the properties with the hope that they remain for many more generations to enjoy.
We try to make conscious choices which result in minimal environmental impact. Water is 100% rain water, instead of single use products we use stock refills for premium bathroom products and are we working towards solar power.
